01 — In short

What fabric is best for a football kit?

Most football kits are 100% polyester: smooth interlock for the sharpest sublimated designs, or birdseye mesh for extra airflow. Around 130–160 GSM keeps a shirt light, quick-drying and tough enough for weekly washing.

02 — Full spec

The typical spec.

Every line is checked with you and written on your spec sheet before a sample is made. Change anything to suit your design, market and budget.

03 — Choosing the fabric

Match fabrics compared.

The fabric decides how a kit feels, breathes and takes a print. These are the knits used most for team kits.

FabricTypical weightWhat it suits
Polyester interlock130–170 GSMSmooth face. The best surface for sharp sublimation.
Birdseye mesh120–160 GSMSmall holes for airflow. A classic football shirt fabric.
Dazzle140–180 GSMShiny, tight knit. Typical for basketball and US sports.
Air-knit mesh180–240 GSMHeavier, open knit. Used for ice hockey jerseys.
Polyester–elastane180–260 GSMStretch for fitted cuts: rugby, volleyball, handball.

These are polyester or polyester blends, so they can be sublimated edge to edge.

06 — Selling in Europe, the UK or the US

Labels for your market.

Tell us where you sell and we set the labels up for that market. If you need lab test reports, ask in your enquiry and we confirm what is possible in your quote.

  • European Union

Fibre names and percentages on the label under Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011. Care symbols to ISO 3758 are standard. REACH limits certain substances in textiles, such as some azo dyes.

  • United Kingdom

Fibre composition labels under the Textile Products (Labelling and Fibre Composition) Regulations 2012, plus care symbols.

  • United States

Fibre content, country of origin ("Made in Pakistan") and your RN number or company name under the FTC textile rules, and care instructions under the FTC Care Labeling Rule.

  • Kids' sizes

Drawstrings in children's clothing follow EN 14682 in Europe. In the US, children's products need CPSIA tracking labels, and hood drawstrings on children's upper outerwear are treated as a hazard (16 CFR 1120).

  • League rules

Leagues and governing bodies set their own kit rules, such as number sizes, colours and sponsor areas. Send your league rules with your enquiry and they go on your spec sheet.

07 — How ordering works

Brief, sample, then bulk.

Send your logo, colours, sizes and quantity for the football kit. You get a written spec and quote, approve a sample, then your order is made, checked and packed under your label. Minimums and dates are confirmed in your quote.

08 — Questions

About the football kit.

More answers on the FAQ page.

Can one order cover the whole club?

Yes. Senior and youth teams, home and away colours and goalkeeper kits can all go on one order, each listed on your spec sheet.

Will sublimated kits crack or peel?

No. In sublimation the ink becomes part of the polyester, so the design cannot crack or peel. Washing inside out at a low temperature keeps colours bright for longer.

Can you match our existing kit?

Yes. Send photos, a sample or your design files and colour references, and the match is checked on your sample before bulk.
