What class is a hi-vis vest?

Under EN ISO 20471 a standard vest with two hoops and braces usually reaches Class 2, depending on its size. In the US, ANSI/ISEA 107 Type R or P Class 2 vests are common for roadwork. The class is confirmed by a test report.

06 — Selling in Europe, the UK or the US

Labels for your market.

Tell us where you sell and we set the labels up for that market. If you need lab test reports, ask in your enquiry and we confirm what is possible in your quote.

  • European Union

Fibre names and percentages on the label under Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011. Care symbols to ISO 3758 are standard. REACH limits certain substances in textiles, such as some azo dyes.

  • United Kingdom

Fibre composition labels under the Textile Products (Labelling and Fibre Composition) Regulations 2012, plus care symbols.

  • United States

Fibre content, country of origin ("Made in Pakistan") and your RN number or company name under the FTC textile rules, and care instructions under the FTC Care Labeling Rule.

  • Hi-vis standards

EN ISO 20471 sets three visibility classes in the EU and UK. ANSI/ISEA 107 sets garment types and classes in the US. A certified garment needs certified fabric and tape and a test report, confirmed per order.

  • Water-repellent finishes

The EU restricts some PFAS chemicals used in water-repellent finishes, and several US states, including California and New York, restrict PFAS in clothing. Ask for a PFAS-free finish for these markets.
